molecular evolution, chemical ecology, genomics
I am a biologist working as a postdoc in Tucson, AZ. I recently completed my PhD at Cornell University in the Department of Neurobiology and Behavior where I studied the molecular and chemical basis of social olfaction in Polistes paper wasps.
I am interested in molecular evolution, chemical ecology, and genomics.
I am curious about how and why organisms influence and interact with their chemical environment. I aim to integrate nucleic acid sequencing and analytical chemistry to study how loci in an organism’s genome underpin the production, perception, and transformation of chemicals that influence evolutionary fitness.
Previous Appointment: USDA-ARS ORISE Postdoctoral Fellow (2022-2023)
From August 2022 until July 2023 I worked as an ORISE Postdoctoral Fellow in Fungal Genetics and Transcriptomics at the USDA-ARS Tucson Aflatoxin Biocontrol Laboratory.
